Allison Beer McKenzie
Allison currently serves as an Architect and Director of Sustainability for SHP Leading Design. SHP Leading Design offers a complete line of planning, architecture, interior design, engineering, construction administration and facilities management services. With more than 105 years of experience, the firm is committed to leading the community in innovative architectural design and sustainable design. Headquartered in Cincinnati, SHP also has offices in Columbus, OH, Hamilton, OH and Denver, CO.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with both Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees, Ms. Beer offers a wealth of experience designing projects that incorporate green and sustainable elements – including projects for the Children’s Home of Cincinnati and the College of Mount Saint Joseph. Also a skilled presenter, Allison was integral in the development of SHP’s United States Green Building Council approved LEED® training class and has taught training classes to over 600 participants on behalf of SHP. She was also the first person in the State of Ohio to complete and pass the architectural licensing exam prior to completing the Intern Development Program requirements.
Allison’s passion for HomeFreeHome and its services stems from personal experience. While in high school, her mother suffered a stroke so she understands how unexpected disabilities can prohibit ones enjoyment of their home – a place where one should feel the most safe.
